Here is a short tour through the interface. On top to the left, there is the Main Menu, from which you can reach all programs. For convenience, the Icons to the right of it are some shortcuts to Sub-menus of the main menu (2d, 3d. Aud, Vid…)
The ControlCenter is the Icon left to the MainMenu. This Menu is for system tools, administration, configuration.
Then there are the most used icons like file-browser, webrowser etc. , which need an extra space because they are clicked so often.
There is another Icon bar at bottom pane, called quicklounge bar, which can be used to drag&drop your favorite Programs into it.
Guake
There is a terminal (guake) started with openArtist which sits in the background and can be started with CTRL+ESC, or with the mouse-gesture LEFT+UP, or if you click on the Icon in tray. If you right click there or in Guake, you will get to the preferences for it.
I modified its GUI so that the new tab button is on the left side, its more convenient this way…
MouseGestures
Yes, there are MouseGestures integrated in openArtist (and a integral part of it), activated by default.
The program is called easystroke and sits in the tray. (you can also reach it via ControlCenter > easystroke Mouse Gestures).
It can also be configured per application and is very easy to configure. Just click on a gesture and the program invites you to make a new one, which will then be assigned to that keyboard shortcut (or whatever is assigned to the gesture). Same on the other side, e,g when you assign a keyboard shortcut to a gesture. Currently. the gestures are set to right mouse button, with some programs excluded (blender, e.g)
